Microsoft Services is looking for Consultants who have a mix of advanced technology and strategic business acumen. The role requires both broad and deep technology knowledge and the ability to architect solutions by mapping common customer business problems to reusable end-to-end technology solutions. Demonstrated ability to engage in senior level technology decision maker discussions related to agility, business value, and end to end information technology security is also a must. Consultants are key enablers for other consultants and partner staff. They manage the complete lifecycle of large and complex projects. Consultants have a passion for the customer which is demonstrated through professionalism and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.

The Consultant helps customer account teams identify, pursue and close strategic business development opportunities while continually driving add-on business within existing accounts. To accomplish this, Consultants must be effective in fostering executive level relationships. When asked, Consultants help translate business requirements into technology requirements for inclusion in contracts and/or statements of work (SOW). In some cases Consultants will also assist in contract negotiations.

Consultants play a key role in employing and developing partners as part of the overall Microsoft services delivery model. Consultants maintain product group relationships and may act as subject matter experts assisting service line management in definition and development of service and/or solution offerings. They drive technical readiness around particular products / go-to-markets by mentoring consultants and partner staff and sharing best practices. Consultants are able to deliver articulate and effective strategic presentations to audiences of all sizes.


Microsoft is looking for consultants at various levels (Consultants, Senior Consultants, Principal Consultants, and Solution Architects) with a depth in development, infrastructure, or project management technologies.

Expert level knowledge in at least one of the following areas is required:

o Developer Technologies - .NET Framework, .NET Compact Framework, Web Services, XML, ASP.NET, ADO.NET
o Developer Products – Visual Studio.NET, SQL Server, Biztalk Server, Commerce Server, Content Server, Project Server, Exchange Server, Live Communication Server, IIS Server, Sharepoint Portal Server/MOSS 2007, Content Management Server, Application Server, Windows 2000/2003 Server
o Database – SQL Server, Transact SQL, Analysis Services, SQL XML, Database Replication, Performance and Scalability, Data Warehousing
